Synopsis

Iron Man opens in Afghanistan, where a billionaire, arms maker, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is attacked and captured by a group, who wants him to make them a super missile to use against the U.S. Army. Instead, with the material that was provided to him he ends up making a bulletproof, weaponed suit of armor, with the help of which he is able to escape from the caves and return to his home town. Once back, we see a changed man who has escaped a close death. He now decides to terminate the company of weapons and will use his intelligence and new technology to redesign the suit that saved his life. He now makes up his mind, to use the technology for the good of the world, giving Iron Man a soul.read full synopsis….

According to Paul Bettany, he did not know which film he was working on; he merely did the job as a favour for Jon Favreau, whom he worked with on Wimbledon (2004)

Movie Error

In the scene when Pepper is watching the television program about Stark Industries stock troubles due to Tony Stark’s rantings at his return press conference, notice she has a wireless headset in her left ear - when Tony calls her the camera flashes back to Pepper and the ear piece is gone.

In the extra footage after the credits, the reflection of the crew is visible in the picture frames around the apartment.

When Iron Man and Iron Monger are fighting, Iron Man catches the SUV, and you can see the family inside the car. Although the car is completely vertical, the hair of the people in the car seem to defy gravity.

Goofs

In the movie clip after the credits, you can see the reflection of the camera man in the picture frames.

Stark is said to have graduated from MIT summa cum laude, but MIT does not graduate people with honors.

When Tony Stark drives his Audi R8 to Disney Hall for the benefit event, there is no front license plate affixed to the vehicle. However, when he pulls up to the entrance, his “STARK4″ vanity plate is clearly visible on the front of the car.

Several of the devices in Tony’s home display live transcriptions of what Tony says. In some cases, the transcript appears slightly before Tony says the words.

Iron Man 2 May Start Filming in March 20099-june-2008:

Terrence Howard revealed that Iron Man 2 would be entering production in March 2009 while speaking to Air Force members recently. Military.com brings us the news in a longer piece where Howard discussed working with members of the U.S. Air Force to prepare for the first Iron Man.

Iron Man the First 2008 Film to $300 Million19-june-2008:
Iron Man was the first big film of the summer and it seems only fitting that it be the first to reach a box-office milestone this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iron Man will be the first movie of 2008 to cross the $300 million plateau at the domestic box office. Current numbers for the film, as of Tuesday, have the Marvel Studios film sitting at $299.3 million. There hasn’t been a daily gross lower than $688,000 for the film in its seven-week run so far, so the milestone will almost certainly be acheived on Thursday.

Deleted Scenes from Iron ManWill Appear on the DVD Release
