Here’s Bangkok Dangerous for you
Bangkok Dangerous is the remake of Pang brothers’ debut Thai movie of the same name. The only difference is that the mute Thai hit man of the original 1999 movie is replaced by brooding but talking American assassin Joe (Nicholas Cage). This film is more stylish and less menacing with exotic locales and a romantic angle. Best is the surprising ending of the film which is quite uncharacteristic of the action flicks made in America. This adrenaline pumping action movie can be yours to see as many times as you like without spending even a single penny. Movie Errors
How ever good a movie may be, there are always a few loop holes that can be found out even in the best of the works. Here are a few mistakes of the movie, which probably the director\producers of the movie could not locate, but sharp eyes of the viewers couldn’t miss them.

Movie News
October 3, 2008: When the Pang brothers were shooting the remake of their 1999 cult hit Bangkok Dangerous, in September 2006, production was held up by a military coup that deposed the Thai prime minister (and Manchester City owner) Thaksin Shinawatra.Filming was only held up for six hours, as Thai coups seldom disrupt daily life for long. However, Nicholas Cage, the star of the movie, demanded to have a Learjet on stand-by at the airport for the rest of the shoot. Obviously, Cage took the title of the movie way too seriously. Thai coups just aren’t that dangerous.
‘Bangkok Dangerous’ reaches No. 1 in slow weekend
September 7, 2008: LOS ANGELES (AP) — The action-thriller “Bangkok Dangerous” took in $7.8 million to finish first at the box office in what was the slowest moviegoing weekend in five years.
“Tropic Thunder,” which had been No. 1 for three weeks, dropped to second place at $7.2 million. “The Dark Knight” edged out “The House Bunny” for third place.
The overall box-office gross was $67.6 million, according to Media by Numbers, the lowest figure since 2003, when the figure was $66.7 million for the same September weekend.
Movie Reviews
Bangkok Dangerous is the story of a lonely assassin who grows lonelier with each execution he carries out until one day he decides that he must quit. But there is one last assignment he must complete before he can turn his back to his life of ruthless murders. This job finds him breaking the four rules that he had stuck to during his life as an assassin, one by one. Nicholas Cage as a brooding assassin has done a great job. But the original movie with deaf and mute assassin carried more substance. Cage trying to explain that he wants bandages to a deaf pharmacist makes one wonder what would happen if it was a life and death situation. Why not any other profession for her? Stunts and fights are thrilling with a racy narrative. Best is the end, which is most unexpected and unlike any of the usual Hollywood flicks. read more….
