Synopsis

The movie is set in fictional Minden, where a new relationship is formed between an uncle and a niece with the help of football. Jasmine Plummer is a sad, friendless teenager who longs for her father who has abandoned her and her waitress mother. Curtis, is her unemployed uncle who was a factory worker, and also a former high school football star. He finds a new purpose in his life,

when he discovers that his bookish niece, Jasmine, can throw a football like a champ. He then helps her tone her skills and requests the local Minden Browns’ coaches, to let her play in their all boys team. Will the two be successful in their mission. And in the process they have to face their biggest obstacle: the reappearance of Jasmine’s father.

‘The Longshots‘ is a sweet, inspirational movie. It will definitely boost up all players and youngsters with athletic talent. It is all the more inspirational, as it is based on the actual achievements of a teenager named Jasmine Plummer. Keke Palmer, who plays Jasmine Plummer, has done a very good role and has made this feel good sports story, even more likable. Though the movie misses out on a few details, but still it never makes us feel that something is missing. The movie throws light on relationships. A daughter who misses her father, a mother who works hard to fulfill the needs of her daughter and also the relationship between a coach and his student. The movie focuses on being positive in life.

I just loved every minute of the movie. The story is inspirational, funny and passionate. The little girl was just too good in the movie and has done complete justice to her role. It was really a great idea to make a movie out of such an inspirational real life story. I am sure it will inspire many more to come. The story is triumphant.

A nice inspirational, entertaining and heart felt movie, that the whole family can watch together. I think that all the youngsters should at-least watch it once. The movie is done in a wonderful way. Keke Palmer and Ice Cube have done a great job in the movie.

The movie brings out hope and sends the message to trust yourselves and your potential. Everything in the movie was very believable. The movie prompts you to believe in your potential, while learning to bring out your talents. A must watch for everyone.
