Movie Error

As a trash compactor Wall-E does not function logically. When he fills his chest compartment with garbage and runs his internal compactor, the cube that exits his body is the same volume as the trash he puts in. He does not add extra trash to fill the empty space after running the compactor - there are three scenes that show him filling up only once with loose garbage and then ejecting a compacted cube.
In the life pod scene, GO-4 puts the plant in the middle of the pod. Just before this Wall-E and Eve peer around to see it doing so. If you look very quickly at Eve’s back when the camera pans around, you can see two different textures flick on and off. This must be an animation error.
When EVE is reactivated on the Axiom bridge, she ’sits up’ on her transport bed. The camera shot changes and she’s ’standing’ well in front of the bed rather than on it or even right next to it.
After the escape pod scene (but before the ‘dance’), Wall-E uses a fire extinguisher to fly back and forth. Between every camera shot except one, all the extinguisher particles disappear instantly.read more….

Trivia

The teaser trailer contains part of Michael Kamen’s score for Brazil (1985). Michael Kamen was going to score another Pixar film, The Incredibles (2004), but died before he could.
Jim Reardon left his position as supervising director of “The Simpsons” (1989) television series to do animation on this film. On the DVD audio commentary for his episode _”The Simpsons: Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo”_, Reardon finally confirmed the title of the film he was working on - prior to that he would only say that it was due in 2008.
The main character’s name is actually an acronym, standing for “Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth-class.” EVE stands for “Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluator” and M-O stands for “Microbe Obliterator.”
Most of the predominantly robot cast of characters is voiced by Ben Burtt through mechanical sounds of his creation.

Goofs

WALL•E first presents the plant to EVE while facing her directly. Later, when EVE replays the same scene in the Captain’s quarters, WALL•E is shown holding the plant from a 3/4 profile.
Eve’s facial dirt markings disappear and re-appear. Eve gets several dirty markings on her otherwise pristine white exterior while in the garbage hold. A long dark stain runs down the right side (her left) of her ‘eye screen’. When she flies WALL•E and M-O out of the garbage hold into the corridor, and is photographed aiming her weapon at the steward robot, and in shot when locking the steward away, the marking is clearly gone. Immediately after, as she is flying down the corridor, followed by a growing group of faulty robots, the mark reappears. During the battle with the large contingent of steward robots, in the beginning when she shoots a steward, the mark is gone, but as she shields herself when the ‘massage’ robot is let loose, the mark reappears.read more….

Memorable Quotes

Captain: Out there is our home - Home, AUTO! - and it’s in trouble. I can’t just sit here and do nothing. That’s all I’ve ever done! That’s all anyone has ever done on this blasted ship - nothing!
AUTO: In space we will survive.
Captain: I don’t want to survive, I want to live!
AUTO: I must follow my directive.
Captain: [he turns around in frustration, and then looks at pictures of past captains to notice AUTO is closer to the camera in progressing pictures]

Movie News

WALL-E Gets Some Tunes From Peter Gabriel
I’m terribly excited over WALL-E. Pixar has shown that they can do no wrong so far, and this year’s release doesn’t look to change that at all. Every glimpse we get of the little robot, from his newfound place in the Pixar logo to the Super Bowl commercial featuring Buzz Lightyear and Woody talking about WALL-E just excites me more and more.
Wall-E Goes Over Well At WonderCon
Pixar has won me over time and time again with their philosophy of character driven stories. There are so many studios out there who would grind out movies just because they could create computer animated films, but Pixar continues to focus on characters and stories first and impressive visuals secondly, which results in them delivering both in joyous little packages.
Adam McKay Wanted To Make Wall-E
At this point it seems like we know what Adam McKay is good at—directing silly, irreverent comedies, most of them starring Will Ferrell, that make us all laugh hysterically. But it seems McKay had plans to make something totally different—that is, until an adorable robot got in his way.
”Honestly I went and saw Wall-E, and I was bummed out.” McKay is probably the first person in the world to say that, but he has good reason. “I was like, ‘Aw, shit. That’s really good.’ They kind of covered some of the area I was going to play around with.” McKay was planning what he calls a Brazil-type comedy, with some of the same elements as Wall-E– specifically the people on the spaceship with the TV screens, floating around in hover chairs.read more….

Movie Review

This animation movie will really make you think hard. The prospects of future are clearly pointed out in the movie, if we continue to clutter and abuse the planet earth, like the way we are already doing it. The movie also shows the condition of humans who have become so used to technology that they can’t even stand on their feet. A movie that, in not so serious way, warns you about the future. The best thing that I like about the movie is that, it made me feel as if I am not watching an animation movie. Honestly, the best animation movie, with great story and visuals. A completely new and different storyline, which will make you laugh, think and even arouse your emotions.read more….
